Functional Medicine

Functional medicine, like acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, is an approach to health that focuses on finding the underlying, root cause of disease. Not just what you are sick with, but how and why you got there and how to correct it to live a life of full and abundant health. This means tracing back where the illness or symptom began and reversing it, not just covering it up with medication. Wh... Read More

Not just what you are sick with, but how and why you got there and how to correct it to live a life of full and abundant health. This means tracing back where the illness or symptom began and reversing it, not just covering it up with medication. While acupuncture at Lake Life also is looking for the root cause of disease, functional medicine sessions focus on labwork, health history, supplementation and lifestyle coaching to help you reach your health goals.
First sessions are $145 for about 1 hour, and return visits are $100 and take about 45 minutes for continued consultation and updated treatment plan, labwork and supplements. To increase success in your health goals you can add an acupuncture session add-on service at reduced cost, however, functional medicine consultation is beneficial all on it's own.
Common conditions addressed through functional medicine include hormonal imbalances, chronic headache/migraine, diabetes, insulin resistance, insomnia, acid reflux, digestive complaints, and more.

This is a profound branch of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture which helps to tonify sagging skin, improve skin tone, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, remove age spots, reduce or eliminate acne, brighten the skin and take years off--ALL NATURALLY!

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture sessions include body acupuncture, which reduces the effects of stress and inflammation, improves circulation and calms the nervous system, as well as targeted facial needles (non-painful) that help to reduce fine lines/wrinkles, improve skin tone and elastin. These sessions are perfect if you are looking to refresh your face and reduce fine lines without wanting to do anything invasive, or if you are suffering the aging effects of chronic illness.

Microneedling: Uses an oscillating needle device that penetrates past the epidermis (top layer of skin) down to the cellular level of the dermis. By activating this level, we are able to stimulate the fibroblasts, which are cells that produce collagen and elastin. This method helps to provide the benefits of botox naturally, without the injection of toxins.

Microneedling with Red Light Therapy and Body Acupuncture provides profound results. The benefits of acupuncture for helping your body heal from the inside out, coupled with the technology of red light and microneedling--both of which stimulate the fibroblasts to produce collagen. Great for reducing fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, hair loss and acne. These sessions use a Chinese Medicine facial serum tailored to you and your diagnosis, hyaluronic acid AND apple stem cell collagen. Best results are seen after 3 sessions, spread 4 weeks apart, and can help take off 5-7 years off your face and last 2-3 years--all naturally!

This is also a great add-on service to acupuncture if your treatments plateau, you've been exposed to heavy metals or chemicals, taken antibiotics or other medications, or have a bacterial overgrowth in the gut.

She first discovered acupuncture while studying exercise science at the University of Montana and dealing with a host of her own hormonal imbalances. After completing her undergraduate degree in 2010, Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy in 2011, and Southwest Acupuncture College in 2016, She became a licensed Acupuncturist with the hope that she too could be a catalyst in helping others take control of their health. In 2016, she opened an Acupuncture clinic in Missoula, MT where she happily grew her practice for four years.

It is Allison’s goal to help others achieve pain-free living and understand how to support the needs of their bodies.
